Design Your Own Sweater

We will use Ann Budd’s book, The Knitter’s Handy Book of Top-Down Sweaters to plan and construct a sweater. The first session will focus on the decision-making process: choosing yarn, creating your swatch, determining your size, and design elements. We will cast on in this first session. The second session will focus on completion: modifications for a perfect fit. Blocking process will also be discussed at the second session.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Students should be able to knit and purl. Other skills that are helpful, but not necessary include increasing and decreasing, casting on, and binding off.
Requirements: Have a few ideas of what you want this sweater to look like and some ideas about yarn options.
Instructor: Amy S
